Volunteer at Acacia Educational Support

Acacia Educational Support is always looking for additional mentors to work with Middle and High School students to assist them in fulfilling their academic potential. All mentors are screened and trained before they have the opportunity to work with students. Interested individuals can come to Acacia and observe how our mentors work with students.  Sit in on a session or two and learn about how you can make a difference and touch the life of a student who needs academic support.

We often have people tell us that they aren't teachers and they don't think they can mentor students through Acacia.  At Acacia, we believe that "it doesn't matter if students care to learn, but that they learn we care."  Acacia is growing because of the relationships we have established with the students who attend.  Acacia students grow academically because they know their mentors believe in them and their academic potential.

New mentors choose the subjects they mentor in as well as the days and times they want to be available.  All we ask is that you commit to at least one semester of your time so that students can benefit from the consistency of your presence. Currently we provide educational support services during the school year on Tuesdays and Thursdays during hour-long sessions, beginning at 3:30 PM and ending at 8:30 PM. To be a mentor you would need to be available during at least one of the sessions on at least one of these days.
