"It doesn't matter if students care to learn, but that they learn we care."
Acacia accepts applications for the 2017 - 2018 school year. Previous and new Acacia students can register online (see link below) and we will contact families to schedule sessions.
If you'd like to be a mentor (we always have need for mentors and administrators), please consider giving a few hours of your time to help students in our community maximize their potential! Please click on the volunteer link below.
Once again we will be offering organizational, educational and study skills support to students in Middle School and High School. Our goal is to assist students in achieving educational independence in keeping with their abilities and potential. These services are offered at no cost to the families of students.
Acacia Educational Support offers programs in the following areas:
• One-on-one and group educational assistance in English, Math, Science Foreign Language and History. • Individualized assistance in organizing folders and keeping workloads manageable. • Individual and group assistance in study and test taking skills. • Support and resources for parents to assist them in understanding how their student(s) learns and how they can support them in their academic growth.
Our mentors are screened and trained in an effort to provide quality educational support for your student. Mentors strive to develop a rapport with your student in an effort to make them comfortable and open to stretching their academic efforts.
A mentor will meet with the student and their parent(s) or guardian(s) initially at the beginning of educational support and periodically to discuss progress as well as ways to improve our support efforts. On request Acacia can provide progress notes to parents and educators in support of the student's academic progress including IEP* goals. Acacia will treat all information pertaining to the student's work and progress as confidential.
Hours are as follows during the school year
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (3:30 PM to 8:30 PM)
Students are expected to arrive on time for their scheduled support session prepared to work. Students are also expected to bring needed school texts, related binders and material provided by the teacher, and assignment notebooks.
We ask parents and guardians to pick-up their student(s) promptly at the end of their student's scheduled support time.
Acacia tutoring will now be held at our new downtown Cedarburg location:
The Student Union (TSU)
W62 N542 Washington Ave.
Cedarburg, WI 53012
